Senior Advisor

Mark de la Iglesia is a Senior Adviser at Keseb and an independent consultant advising U.S. and international democracy strengthening efforts. Mark is a strategist and catalyst with experience spanning government, civil society, and philanthropy, including most recently at the Open Society Foundations (OSF), where Mark led global anti-corruption efforts combining grantmaking, field and donor coordination, advocacy, and strategic litigation. Prior to OSF, Mark helped design and advise governance assistance programming in over a dozen countries at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, including in the areas of legislative strengthening, open government, and technology for democratic innovation.

Mark started his career in the U.S. Congress as a legislative director in the House of Representatives and later as a legislative affairs director at the U.S. State Department. His passion for safeguarding and strengthening American democracy has led him to serve on the board of electoral reform champion FairVote since 2017 and to volunteer for voting rights and campaign finance reform campaigns. Mark has a Master’s in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University, and lives with his wife and two young kids in Washington, D.C.
