Dr. Jeanine Abrams McLean

President, Fair Count

Dr. Jeanine Abrams McLean is the President at Fair Count. She is a highly skilled researcher with over 20 years of experience designing, managing, and implementing population-based studies and projects. Dr. Abrams McLean has authored 25 peer-reviewed publications. While at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, she applied her expertise in computational biology and population research to advance public health initiatives. She has extensive project management experience as well as work in community organizing. In addition to her work in public health, she is passionate about finding creative ways to tackle community-based issues using both strategic planning and innovative ideas.

Bold in action, creative in strategy, and rooted deeply in organizing, Fair Count builds long-term power within historically undercounted communities. With the census as their North Star, Fair Count uses every iteration of civic participation as a catalyst to build a more equitable democracy.

Fair Count is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded by Stacey Abrams. The goal of Fair Count is to ensure that every person in Georgia and the United States is seen, heard, and counted in the census and to build pathways to continuous civic participation, including voter education and redistricting. Fair Count believes the best way to address the inequities in our democracy is by overwhelming the system with participation. This means combatting the challenges of inequity and disenfranchisement throughout rural communities of color to build long-term civic power. To that end, Fair Count identifies, engages, and turns out undercounted groups for civic mobilization efforts. The core of their approach is non-extractive, deep-dive organizing.
